Nancy Bell

Practice Manager

Nancy and her husband Joe moved to Vermont in 1990 from “The City”, New York City that is. Nancy began her animal related career there working for the ASPCA. Shortly after arriving in the Green Mountain State, she landed a job at GMAH and here she has remained until this day (fortunately for us!) Having held every job possible from vet tech, to receptionist, to surgery tech and finally to practice manager, Nancy has proved to be an irreplaceable member of our staff. Along with her husband Joe, she shares her small Vermont farm with Toulouse, a very mellow and loyal VFD (Vermont Farm Dog) who is named after Toulouse Lautrec. The famous 19th century French painter was known for his short legs, as is Toulouse the dog. He is Nancy’s constant companion. Rounding out the family is a CATastrophe named Niles – an orange tabby who loves to spend a winter day chasing snowflakes.

Tom

Technician

Tom is a true “Vermonter”, born, raised, educated and still living in Vermont! Tom started his animal related career at the Humane Society of Chittenden County. He came to the Green Mountain Animal Hospital over 25 years ago. With areas of expertise including animal handling and restraint, Tom holds the position of Head Kennel Technician. He also spends a lot of time in the lab, where he processes in-house blood work.Tom lives in his mountainside cabin with his friend “Earle” the cat.

Bethany Hathaway

Lab Manager

I graduated from VTC in "98 with an associates degree in animal science. I traveled around a bit until I finally landed here at GMAH in 2005, and I've never been happier. I live in South Hero with my 3 cats - Phoebe, Simon & Dexter. We love it out in the islands! It's so peaceful & beautiful. I love being a vet tech. I get to care for, love and smooch on animals all day, and I wouldn't have it any other way! I am proud to be a member of the GMAH staff. We are a talented group, and I feel we offer a very high quality of veterinary medicine to our clients & patients. It makes me feel good to think I might have made a difference in an animal's life, or hopefully, at least a better experience at the vet's office.

Rachel Charbonneau, CVT

Surgery Manager

Rachel came to the Green Mountain Animal Hospital in the spring of 2005 after graduating from VTC with a degree in Veterinary Technology. Once she got her head out of the books, she was excited to find our team. Rachel received her certification after passing the VTNE and is currently the manager of our surgical suite. When not at work Rachel enjoys anything that keeps her outdoors and spending time with family and friends.

Kathryn Garneau, CVT

Kate joined the GMAH team in the summer of 2006 as part of her summer externship for the Vermont Technical College program. Upon completing the externship, she stayed on as part of the GMAH team. Previous to that, she worked in the area as a vet assistant and receptionist extraordinaire. She graduated from UVM in 2000 with a major in animal science and a minor in wildlife biology. When not working, she enjoys being with her girlfriend and their menagerie of animals, and enjoys the outdoors and the beauty that Vermont has to offer.

Meghan Kinney

Meg enjoys spending time with her dog "Midas", snowboarding, ice skating, hiking, swimming, cooking and cuddling with her cats "Biggie", "Sunshine", and "Woodsy".

Danielle Maybank

Melinda Buley

Melinda graduated from VTC in May of this year with an Associates degree in Veterinary Technology and immediately joined our excellent team here at GMAH! And she loves it! In her spare time she enjoys the Vermont outdoors with her new fiancé and their two dogs, ‘Ty’ the golden retriever, ‘Chessie’ the Chesapeake Bay retriever and their horse ‘Blake’ the Morgan/Quarter Horse.

Angi Coppola

Technician

Angi is a newcomer to Vermont. Originally from NH, she began her career in veterinary technology in 2001 when she enrolled in a high school program that allowed her to attend the local veterinary hospital for job shadowing. Her strong interest in the field and work ethic earned her a job working in the kennel after high school. Soon after, she was trained on-site in the technical skills needed to assist the veterinarians. She worked her way up the ladder, becoming a fully skilled veterinary technician. After working in general practice for 5 years, Angi wanted to expand her knowledge and experience. She began working at a 24hr emergency clinic to further expand her skill level. After working in emergency for 3.5 yrs, she relocated to Montpelier this past April with her husband, Stefano and their dog, Lucy. She is happy to be a part of the great team at Green Mountain Animal Hospital!! In her spare time, Angi enjoys spending time at home, movies, hiking, kayaking, and visiting family and friends!
